Arturo Tranquilino is a guitarist and vocalist for the powerful Mexican duo YOKOZUNA. He has recorded 3 albums, the first with EMI MUSIC in the collection Cual es tu rock? which received excellent reviews from newspapers including Milenio, La Jornada and El Excelsior, and from rock magazines such as Rolling Stone México, Switch, R&R, La Mosca and Circulo Mixup, among others.
His second album was with record label Naranjada Records, a strong-selling album that sent three singles onto Mexican radio; the third, with Discos Intolerancia, was Yokozuna II, featuring the singles "Slam y Minifaldas" and "Boom boom," and collaborations with Gerry Rosado and Alejandro Otaola of SANTA SABINA. Due for release shortly is his second EP, RIBETE, featuring the single "Caliéntame," which is already on the radiowaves in the U.S., Mexico, and the rest of Latin America.
He has collaborated on other projects such as MONGOL GOL GOL (band headed up by Miky Huidobro of MOLOTOV) and KAFKA JONES (band headed up by Daniel Gutiérrez of LA GUSANA CIEGA).
He uses Jimmy Wess Professional Nickel Wound strings.
